General Information
Situated on the Nebrodi green mountains of Sicily, 4 miles from the sea, the "Antico Casale di Lisycon" offers a typical and natural hospitality. The colonial houses have been rebuilt respecting the originality of their components and materials, surrounded by a forest formed by orange, hazel-nut, chestnut and olive trees. Hundred of years old spring water, the pure fragrance and peace of the uncontaminated nature are essential elements to spend an autentic holiday with a certain ancient taste.
A small museum removes the past of the country man wich is often forgotten. The original taste of "home made" bread, cakes, and pizza baked in wood-oven. Exhibition of art and classic guitar music, every year, in the month of August.
Lisycon's room
A large matrimonial room, private bathroom, potable water, terrace with a splendid view of S. Angelo's Village. Cosy and charming angle which reminds Sicily in the 19th century, with its own lights and colours.
Sylanda's house
Typical Sicilian colonial house furnished and restored in Mediterranean style.
Potable water service, accommodation for one double and three single beds, bathroom.
Scirocco’s room
Next to the wine mill and decorated with furnitures of a time recalling the story of the Sicilian cart “carretto siciliano”. In times past each Sicilian house had an ideal room to take refuge when the hot sirocco wind blows. Cool in summer and warm during winter.
Merlo’s room
It is called like this, because many years ago a Merlo (blackbird) used to make its nest in each season and then fly away with the young ones. It is situated in an angle of the antique guardian tower which was part of the Casale di Lisycon.
The window faces vines with bunches of grapes and kiwi.
"Antico Casale di Lisycon" farm produces vegetables, fruits, citrus, hazel-nuts, chestnuts, olive oil and marmalades.
All elaborated with antique methods based on the Nebrodi recipes. Vegetarian dishes are prepared, fresh fish and local poutry.
The unforgettable tasty bread, pizza, cakes and biscuits, baked in traditional wood-oven.
