The island is bounded by the Tyrrhenian Sea to the north, the Ionian to the east and the Sicilian Sea to the south-west; the Strait of Messina separates it from Calabria.

Iles Eoliennes - Le Tour de l'Ile en bateau
Bien sûr une expérience à ne pas manquer. Le Belvédère de Quattrocchi offre une vue panoramique sur le bras de côté le plus beau et le plus exaltant de l’île, mais pour jouir d’une expérience spectaculaire il faut le regarder à partir de la mer. La merveille commence lorsqu’on dépasse l’isthme (800 mètres de large) séparant Lipari et Vulcano. Une fois doublée pointe Crapazza, l’on aperçoit la petite plage de Vinci et les grands écueils de Pietra Lunga et de Pietra Menalda, suivis, à la fois, de la pointe de Perciato, un promontoire en roche stratifiée et percée par l’action de la mer. Et puis encore Pietracacata (qui doit son toponyme aux goélands) et les aiguilles Le Formiche.
Enfin, c’est la fois des parois plombantes des rochers de mont Guardia et, au-delà de pointe Jacopo, la plage de gravier de Valle Muria.
