General Information
The Agritourism on the high mountain is between the parks of Abruzzo midway between Maiella and Gran Sasso, in a most panoramic position. An ideal starting point for excursions in all the region. We offer self contained apartments and rooms with bathrooms. Rural construction from the early 19th century. We have a large lawn, bicycles, a small fishing lake (Carp) and have Quads which you can hire for offroad excursions. We are open all year.
The house is run by the owners family, who work on the farm, manually and with the use of agricultural machinery.
Old rooms previously used as stables, granary, and olive cellars, have been recently converted into two ground floor apartments maintaining the vaulted ceilings and all their original character.
Ripalta is a small agricultural farm of approximately 20 hectares, near Pietranico and Corvara.
The farm, handed down by the generations, with its customs, its cultivating traditions, and its buildings has adapted to modern agricultural demands, whilst respecting the environment. The owners have become organic farmers rejecting intensive farming.
Undertaking like the ancestors, who were self sufficient, a mixed type of production. Cultivating olives, vines, vegetables, cereals and animal feed, and breeding animals for meat.
Activities in the region are very varied, the following explains some of the activities you can be involved with in the region.
For visitors who want to relax they can fish in the farm’s lake or in local lakes of the region. In the summer it is possible to collect wild mulberries from the local bushes near the farm.
For those who want to be closer to nature and be involved in the work that is undertaken by the farmer/proprietor you can accompany him and work in the fields as a pruner, work with a tractor, breaking down the edges of the plots of land, asssit with weed maintenance of the meadow or just simply help look after the animals
To keep yourself fit there are mountain bikes available from the farm, to go for on or off road rides. A short distance away, is the Park of Gran Sassso , where there are official riding routes of Monte Picca, Cannatina and Voltigno.
