Over the past 20 years a new type of tourism has grown strongly throughout Italy, Agritourism or Agriturismo as it is know in Italy. This type of tourism is orientated around having a rural experience which you share with the family who owns the farm or Agritourism on which you are staying. Generally, these properties are vineyards or orchards and you are able to enjoy the fruits of the farm and in many cases your meals are prepared in traditional settings and dishes by the family itself.
Agritourism is an excellent option to the traditional types of accommodation and gives you the opportunity to stay in working farmhouses, in which you can rent an apartment and often buy the farm produce - or have it cooked for you!. These are known as agriturismi (country tourism - or perhaps agrarian tourism? - basically a farm stay holiday) and are very popular. They also often now have swimming pools and are great for families.

Giro di Mera - Vercelli in Piemonte
Man fährt von Scopello los, oder besser von „Alpe Trogo“, denn so kann man den harten, 7 km langen Aufstieg über die Asphaltstraße vermeiden. Auf der linken Seite des Parkplatzes nimmt man den Kiesweg und vorbei an einem Pinienhain passiert man dann die Piste, die im Winter die Piste von Pian Rastò. Neben der kleinen Kirche fährt man weiter in Richtung Sesselliftstation (nur im Winter geöffnet), man durchquert also die ganze Alm auf einer schmalen Asphaltstraße bis zum kleinen See „Laghetto del Campo“.
Danach fährt man zwischen den Skiliften in Richtung „Alpe Musso“, wobei man sich plötzlich zwischen Rhododendren und Wiesen befindet und gelangt so zur Talstation des Skiliftes von Camparient. Weiter geht es entlang des Kiesweges, der im Winter als Schipiste dient. Nach zwei lang gezogenen Kurven darf man nicht den Feldweg versäumen, der zum Aufstieg nach Pian Rastò über die „Alpe Ruscàa“ führt.
